How To Plan A Vacation

By Chris E Watson

First you want to research, go online and discuss it with your party who is also traveling with you. Find out what everyone has in mind, and visit sites to see what others have said, for example, look at travel photos, journals and videos posted by real people sharing their experiences.

Hey, visit some place new this year! Once you and your party have come to an agreement on where you want to visit the next step is to figure out the length of the vacation, departure and return dates

This might be the hard part, there is so much to choose from. Make it exciting, fresh, new! Once you have decided where you want to visit, start packing! Be sure to pack your undergarments, pajamas, hygiene items, shoes, swimsuits/towels if swimming, even first aid kit, you never know.

Decide on a schedule for what each person wants to do along the way. Gather everyone together and discuss what you had in mind. Be prepared for arguments. Everyone must be willing to compromise.

Do you have pets? If so, Find a pet-sitter ahead of time if your pets cannot come along. If you decide to bring any, you must remember that they cannot go inside most restaurants or hotels, and they will have to make bathroom breaks as well.

Find transportation to your destination. If you are traveling by ground transportation, renting a van might be a good option. A minivan, twelve or 15 passenger van might be great. You get a chance to see multiply destinations and saving on cost because everyone is traveling in one vehicle.

A friend of mine made plans to visit NY, Boston, and Washington DC. They had a party of twenty-one. They shopped around and ended renting a 15 passenger van and a minivan from a local company. They had a ball, they had the opportunity to save on gas, & tolls to name a few and everyone traveled in one vehicle which is always fun. The rental company offered perks such as Satellite radio and DVD player at a small additional cost which was no problem because they wanted to be well entertained while traveling from state to state.

They came in to JFK, the rental company delivered their vehicles to to airport, wow, talk about customer service. They spent a few days in the city taking in all that NY has to offer, fine dining, Times Square, Harlem site tours and even the Bronx Zoo. From NY they headed up to Boston. In Boston they enjoyed out door live music festivals, baseball games at Fen way Park and other historical sites. Then from there it was on to Washington DC. The DC area he mentioned had a lot to offer including visiting the Shrine a favorite spot to visit in DC. The awesome “Christ Pantocreator” mosaic on the inside dome alone makes it worth a visit, the Newseum, Vietnam Memorial Wall, Bike and Roll Washington DC (formerly Bike the Sites)day and night bike tours to name a few.

When you get to your destination be friendly to the locals they are happy you are there

Hey, have fun! take lots of pictures. You might even post some of your pics or videos for someone to view who might be considering the same destination you visited

Last but not least, be safe, remember there is life after vacation.
