Kitchen Aid Food Processor Review

Submitted by: E Vince Tan

KitchenAid 12-cup Food Processor KFP750 is one of the most powerful and durable food processors that are available. It comes in 4 different colors – black, red, chrome and white.

The Powerhouse of the Machine:

KitchenAid food processor is powered by a strong 700-Watt motor. I loved how the food processor handles all of the demanding tasks ranging from kneading dough, slicing vegetables, chopping onions to pureeing baby food like a charm.

I love how this machine quietly execute its job. I can chat on the phone without being disturbed by the noise. My family members watching TV in the living room didn’t even realize I was preparing dinner.

For our safety, the nice weight balance of the machine and the rubber pads at the corners of the base prevent it from “walking” when it is at work.

Great capacity:

This 12-cup food processor offers great capacity for processing food. You have 2 work bowls to work with – a 12-cup bowl and a 4-cup bowl. The main work bowl can handle almost any job that you needs it to do. I like using the mini bowl for handling smaller tasks. Some users have complained of food falling over into the main bowl.

For me, this only happens when I tried to do too much in the mini bowl. This limits the amount of liquid that KitchenAid 12 Cup food processor can handle. If you have to handle large volumes of liquid, a blender may be a better choice for you. Do consider the Braun food processor, which can handle more liquid.

There are also complaints about liquid leaking out of the seam. To prevent this, avoid putting liquids above the liquid indicator mark on the bowl.

Accessories:

KitchenAid provides you with all the essential slicing discs and blades. The premium quality multipurpose stainless-steel blade ensures a high quality processing. It is amazing how fast and easy I can create evenly sliced cucumbers. There is only drawback with the blades. They are REALLY SHARP! Be extremely careful whenever you are handling them.

It comes with a storage case which I really love. I can easily organize the accessories. However, the mini bowl and its blade cannot be stored in the case and is stored inside the large bowl. It is a little troublesome having to frequently take them out before using.

Dual feed

I love the feed tube pusher of the food processor. It comes in two parts and locks together perfectly. It can be used as a large, oval pusher or a smaller, round pusher which is great for slicing carrots and celery evenly. There is also a red, removable insert which has a small hole in the bottom. You can drip liquids slowly into the mixture in the bowl.

Depending on the tasks that you will be doing, you might find the feed tube on the small side. There is still some pre-prepping to do for large items. You will still need to use your knife and chopping board.

Button: on, off, pulse

There are 3 buttons on the 12-cup food processor — On, Off and Pulse. The Pulse mode is fantastic. It gives a small amount of power so you can have more control over the process and thus providing precise results.

You need not worry about food leaking into the buttons.

Assembly

The locking mechanism locks the lid to the bowl and the bowl to the base securely, keeping your kitchen safe. You need not worry about accidental start ups.

Storage

KitchenAid 12-cup food processor is bulky. Depending on the frequency of use, placing it on the counter top is recommended. Allocate a space for it before buying. Take note if you have low cabinets. If your kitchen is small, you may have problems finding space for this machine.

Cleaning

Chean up is simple. Though not as quick as a bowl and spoon. All I need to do is wipe the base and throw everything else (bowls, blades and discs) into the dishwasher. Users have complained that water found a way to get stuck in the handle.

Avoid soaking the food processor and wash the food processor immediately after use. Water would find its way into the handle if you leave it to soak.

Warranty

KitchenAid includes a 1-year hassle-free replacement warranty. They would pay for any necessary return shipping while under warranty and they will ship you back the parts for free. null They are very polite and helpful.

Conclusion

If you do lots of cooking, you need KitchenAid 12 Cup Food Processor. Even with the minor issues, you will find this machine a joy to use. You may even find excuses to use it even more!
